Scientific Profile

Our research is centered on developing novel main-group catalysts, particularly frustrated Lewis pairs, for hydrogenation reactions and related transformations.

We also explore the use of main-group catalysis in organic synthesis. To guide and refine catalyst design, we place strong emphasis on mechanistic understanding of the reactions we develop.

Recently, we introduced N-heterocyclic quinodimethanes as a new class of ylidic organic compounds. Computational chemistry plays a central role in our work, supporting both mechanistic studies and the in silico design of new catalysts.
